AMAZING RACE: MELBOURNE EDITION

And I'm back!!

I was recently reminiscing over my Japan holiday last year and I really miss it; the food (of course), the culture, the fashion... just everything.

But it was really expensive - not as expensive as other destinations, in comparison it's pretty cheap, but ya girl likes to save a few dollars - and during an outing with some friends I also came to the realisation of how expensive sightseeing in Melbourne is.

We had a school break a few weeks ago and my friends and I hung out but we didn't want to spend a lot of money because we're broke (cries). So what we decided to do was an Amazing Race around Melbourne where we completed challenges, and took pictures at iconic Melbourne landmarks by solving riddles with uncommon information about these landmarks. Though this can be done as a fun challenge and/or competition, remember that you don't have to use it like that, it serves multiple purposes and you can even use it as a guide if you ever decide to go here, (WAY) down under.

Some advice I would give to anyone deciding to do the Amazing Race is to utilise public transport, Melbourne is iconic for its tramway system and is free within the CBD (where the majority of the landmarks are). Also, make lots of use of Google Maps to get around but make sure to make full use of the information guides around the city (who are wearing red shirts with a blue 'i' to help you solve any riddles you're stuck on).

Overall, we found the Amazing Race enjoyable and even better, we didn't spend any money!!  And even as Melburnians (the term used to describe people living in Melbourne) we learnt a few extra facts which is also useful. However, it is really tiring so remember to utilise public transport and go at your own pace!

If you're interested in participating or trying it out, the link to the Amazing Race is included here: Amazing Race: Melbourne Edition

Hope you have fun and comment your thoughts or any things I should change!
