The Diet Edit

I'm not even gonna lie, I got the idea for the title by Anna on The Anna Edit who likes to call changes in her life 'edits' which I find really cool. And the one big edit I have recently decided to make and make official in the new DECADE (I can't believe it) is editing my diet so that I am now pescatarian. Originally I wanted to become vegetarian however, I think I have become iron deficient and need the nutrients from fish.

Some people might be reading this and thinking to themselves 'oh my gosh is she just going to tell us to go pescatarian to save the environment', and whilst that is one of the reasons I decided to edit my diet, this post is more about keeping me accountable and sharing my journey to anyone who wants to listen. When I went onto the internet to search up people who have a similar diet, their content was concentrated on the meals and while that is useful, I couldn't find anyone who documented the transition and how that worked for them.

I remember when I first told my friends and family, quite a few of them thought I couldn't do it - and to be quite honest there have been a few times where I surrendered to my cravings. One of my family members commented on how it must be hard to eat out because of my limited options however in the past 2-3 weeks that I have officially been pescatarian, I have found that it is much harder to eat at home. It probably would've been easier if my entire family became pescatarian but they didn't so this past week I have been researching and testing a bunch of different recipes.

Fingers crossed I am successful, although other than the little temptations I don't think I could go back to my previous diet. If you are going through this journey as well or want to reduce your meat consumption, I wish you all the best!

And Merry Christmas/Happy Hanukkah and Happy New year!
