Road to Infinity

I had the craziest dream the other day where Taylor Swift was the wife of a cafe owner..?

Somehow in that plot, in my dream, I was on a mission to find something that would solve all the world's problems; world peace, climate change, poverty, everything. And I found it. I found the thing that would solve all of our problems.

Once I found it, the world was spinning like a cliche slow motion scene in a movie where time is slowed and moving into an alternative reality. When I landed though, reality was exactly the same.

It was disorientating, disappointing and underwhelming.

I put in so much time, effort and energy to find an answer or solution only for nothing to happen.

Even when I woke up I was confused and disappointed - if I found the solution to solving all the problems in the world, why wasn't the world 'perfect'

Looking back at my life, everything that I did was with the end destination of a 'better world' in mind. What exactly is that better world though?

The thing I realised is that the world will always have problems. The problems will just look different as existing ones are worked towards/solved and new ones are created as the world changes.

I don't know how to feel about it to be honest; always on the road to the destination of improve something in the world, but the destination is always moving further away or to a different place, going on the road to infinity.

This fact brings something unsettling and comforting at the same time - change and improvements are always constant, it's just what it looks like will always look differently.

I guess all that we can ask of ourselves is to do our best to leave this life, putting the world in a better shape than when we entered it.
