COVID-19: the boredom survival pack

| chocolate chip cookies I baked today - turned out to be a fail |
Today was the first day of my isolation. So far, it has felt like a Sunday - I know I need to get stuff done but I just laze around. After spending a very sad 4 hours doing some work I baked these very sad cookies with my sister (even though they look weird, they taste great and that's what matters!)
To stop myself going insane and being the nerd I am, I have made some goals that (hopefully) I'll work towards and achieve by the end of this quarantine.
- Exercise every day. I can just see my best friend laughing at me, knowing I'm one of the laziest people but hey, I did a workout today (granted it was like 10 minutes) and fingers crossed I can keep this up. Thanks to the recommendation of Anna from The Anna Edit, I have found Fitness Blender who post workout videos where you don't need all the fancy gym equipment.
- Replant my veggie patch. In recent times, my veggie patch has been pretty sad. We haven't put much effort and time into it but now that I have heaps of time on my hands, why not?! With a lot of the grocery store hoarders (grr) and just the uncertainty of food security in general (and it's better for the environment too), it would be a smart move to become more self-sufficient. It's also a lot of fun too!
- Declutter my room. Working in my room, I have found new ways to procrastinate. And one of the things I've been doing instead of doing what I'm actually supposed to do is look at the clutter in my room and my closet, and how much of those things I use/don't use. And for the past few years, I have been neglecting doing this very daunting task. But now, it is time to procrastinate by doing a task I've been procrastinating... the irony.
Of course I'm not only going to do those things. Between that and the work I need to do (but don't want to do), I am most definitely going to take advantage of the amount of time on my hands and do what I've been wanting to do but haven't.
- Podcasts. I love podcasts. I love bingeing podcasts - just lying on my bed or doing chores whilst listening to whatever sparks my interest. Since I'm learning French, I've been exploring some French podcasts to improve my French but we'll see how my skills improve after this period. I also listen to a bunch of other podcasts that cover a range of topics such as music (both genre and album analysis), storytelling and crime. There's a heap of other podcasts that I've been meaning to listen to so I'll definitely jump onto that during this period.
- Reading. I used to read a lot (I even wrote for a while about the books I read every month) but nowadays I really only read for school and maybe one book every few months. I'm currently reading Pride and Prejudice but have no idea what's going on. If I ever endure my confusion and finish it as well as other books, maybe I'll write about the books I read?
- Bingeing Netflix. Ironic because I'm a media student but I rarely watch movies and tv series because I really don't have time. And no one really understands how bad I am at watching film/tv series until I tell them that I started watching Stranger Things last yr February ??, finished season 1 in June, finished season 2 in September and have yet to finish season 3. Unless my sister hogs the TV, I am deadset on finishing it, I've come so far.
- Cooking. As you probably already know, I've become pescatarian (although for the most part I eat vegetarian meals) and you would've thought that since I have to cook for myself, I would be an excellent cook. To be honest, I literally cook the same 3 things haha, curry, pasta, oh wait that's 2 things... even worse. My explore page on Instagram is becoming more and more filled with vegan/vegetarian recipes so maybe... hopefully? (if any of you have seen that quarantine tweet about the cook and the alcoholic, I'm the cook and my friend is the alcoholic hehe... love you <3)
- Helping the people out in your community. Not going to be a long paragraph but... there was an initiative started at my school that encouraged people to help the vulnerable in our community and I highly suggest you do that! Check out my previous post if you're needing ideas OR, start your own initiative!
Maybe this has caused a spark of inspiration to ignite within you... or maybe not. Either way, I'm hoping and praying that everyone has a safe and healthy quarantine!

Me? An alcoholic? I'll take it
