Media Rants: To All The Boys: Always and Forever

Okay, okay, now before you judge... I only watched it because I watched the first 2 with a friend during a sleepover and during our family friend parties decided to watch the final one.

Not gonna lie, I quite enjoyed this one and I think it's my favourite out of the 3, I really feel all the characters experienced well-written character development. But the thing I appreciated most were the colour filters they used. One prominent example is the diner where Peter and Lara Jean have a lot of their dates, the colour filter is warm toned which significantly contrasted to the scene where Peter met up with his father at said diner where the colour filter was very blue and cool toned.

Moving away from me being a media nerd, the two key messages I got from the film were
1. it is important to stay true to yourself, especially in relationships. Stay true to what your dreams and goals in life are. Don't let anyone hold you back because if they love you, they won't because they want what's best for you, and for you to be happy.
2. love can fix anything. Yes you make mistakes and bad decisions in life, that's inevitable. But it is love that makes us strive to become better people for the ones we love. I agree with this, but I also think that there are cases where if you love someone it may be best to let them go. Why? You want different things in life and/or from the relationship and sometimes love isn't enough to fix those things - you just may not be as compatible as you thought you were.

In saying that *spoiler alert but with these type of movies is it really a spoiler* I am so glad that they got back together in the end. It showed Peter's character development and really gave him dimension in comparison to the rest of the series how he was able to work through his childhood problems/traumas and mature.

Would I recommend this movie? No. But if you have already watched the other 2 you might as well...
